Twinn Engineering Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Twinn Engineering LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our Services. It covers our accounting platform (Twinn Core), our Zebra®-compatible scanner application (Twinn Inventory), and related websites and services. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
Different Services collect different information. Where a practice applies only to a specific product, this Policy says so.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account registration details (name, email, organization/company information).
- Business and accounting records you enter or upload into the Services.
2.2 Financial information obtained via Plaid (Twinn Core)
To deliver bank-feed, balance, and transaction-reconciliation features, Twinn Core uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect to your financial institution(s) with your authorization. When you choose to link a financial account, you authorize Plaid to access information from your financial institution on your behalf and to share it with us. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Account and routing identifiers and account metadata (name, type, mask);
- Account balances;
- Transaction history (amounts, dates, descriptions, categories);
- Account-holder identity information (e.g. name, address) as provided by your institution.
We do not receive or store your online banking login credentials. You enter those directly with Plaid; we receive only a secure access token that lets us retrieve the data you authorized.
2.3 Payment information (via Stripe)
When you purchase a subscription or make a payment, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”). We do not collect or store your full payment card number; Stripe collects and processes your payment card details directly. We may receive limited transaction information from Stripe, such as billing name and address, the card brand and last four digits, payment status, and subscription details, which we use to manage your account and billing.
2.4 Usage telemetry (Twinn Inventory and other Services)
Twinn Inventory is a scanner application that works with Zebra® scanners. We do not collect the contents of the barcodes you scan or the business records you scan into your own systems. For this and our other Services we collect limited usage telemetry, which may include:
- Basic device information (e.g. device model, OS version);
- App information (e.g. app version, configuration flags);
- Usage events (e.g. screens viewed, features used, button taps);
- Performance data (e.g. error reports, crash logs, response times);
- Timestamps and counts (e.g. usage frequency, uptime and connectivity metrics).
We do not use telemetry to identify individual end-users by name, and we do not collect contact information through telemetry unless you provide it through a separate support or onboarding process.
2.5 Information collected automatically
- Log and usage data (IP address, device/browser type, timestamps, actions in the Services) for security, diagnostics, and improvement of the Services.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including bank-feed import, reconciliation, accounting/reporting, and scanner features;
- Maintain and improve the performance, reliability, and security of the Services;
- Troubleshoot issues, errors, and crashes, and understand general usage patterns;
- Authenticate users and secure accounts;
- Communicate with you about the Services;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
We use Plaid-derived financial data only to provide and improve the features you have requested. We do not sell your personal or financial information, and we do not use it for advertising or to profile individual users.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as follows:
- Plaid (Twinn Core). Your use of account linking is also governed by Plaid's privacy practices. By using the Services to link an account, you also agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy, available at plaid.com/legal.
- Stripe (payments). Payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your payment information is handled in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.
- Service providers / sub-processors. Cloud hosting, database, observability, crash-reporting, and logging providers that process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, limited to what is necessary to operate the Services.
- Legal & safety. When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Twinn, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell personal or financial information, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls and MFA, least-privilege access, and logging/monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and respond promptly to risks.
6. Data Retention & Disposal
We retain personal, financial, and telemetry information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you disconnect a linked financial account or delete your account, we cease retrieving new data and delete or de-identify associated financial data within a defined period, except where retention is legally required.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete your information;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Data portability;
- Withdraw consent (including disconnecting linked accounts at any time within the Services).
To exercise these rights, contact privacy@twinn.engineering. We will respond as required by applicable law. You may also exercise rights regarding Plaid-collected data via Plaid as described in Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.
You can disconnect a linked financial institution at any time from within Twinn Core; this revokes our ongoing access to that institution's data.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.
9. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for business and professional use and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by other reasonable means, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
