How it’s calculated
The same notes Twinn shows beside the report, so anyone reading it knows what the numbers include.
- Balance-sheet accounts show their cumulative balance; income and expense accounts show the year to date (periods 1 to 'Period to').
- Sage never posts a closing entry, so earlier years' net income appears as one computed line after Retained Earnings. With it, total debits equal total credits.
- Tick 'Show beginning, activity and ending' for the balance before 'Period from', the debits and credits posted in the periods, and the ending balance (debits positive, credits negative).
- Built from posted lines; voided transactions are excluded.
